JAKARTA, INDONESIA, Oct 31, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - The domestic industries were asked to continue to develop its innovation gradually for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The innovations should be at least at the same level with innovations produced by other ASEAN countries, said Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Syarif Hidayat.
"Technological innovation should come in hand and meet the needs of the people," he told reporters.
In addition to technological innovation, the local industry should also increase efficiency, productivity and labor competencies. "Business competition is very tight so the industries have to evolve relentlessly," he explained.
However, Syarif vowed to protect local industries by taking some measures to ease them, such as pressing industrial gas prices to stand at the same rate as other ASEAN countries. "We will also facilitate the licensing of local industries," he continued.
Bambang Muliana, CEO of business-based enterprise network, LiveWell Global, agreed with Syarif Hidayat's statement. He emphasized local industries should improve in the face of the AEC. "Technological innovation should be improved relentlessly so that Indonesia could become a 'strong player' in its own country," he said.
In line with that goal, Bambang said LiveWell Global is currently in the process of building a system that will integrate all aspects of the company to facilitate business management and an even information dissemination.
"Our system would be able to provide information in real-time of the core business processes of companies such as production, order processing, inventory, shipping and can also monitor the company's resources such as money, raw materials, production capacity, and employees - just like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) - but we also integrate it with other systems such as a notification system, online payment systems, loyalty systems, etc.," he said.
Bambang added, in LiveWell Global, the system is also used to manage the status of business commitments such as customer service, pre-orders, as well as employee payroll. "With the system, important information can also be disbursed in real-time via social media, and announcement via email/SMS, or via our weekly newsletter," he explained.
He also stressed that the business and distribution network in Indonesia should be committed to integrate enterprise systems. In addition, LWG also makes Razedo AR, a mobile application created to facilitate the LWG members to receive information. "The goal is to provide a better service for consumers and to get them ready to face international competition with other industries," he said.
By taking these measures, Bambang hoped the local industry would grow big not only in this country, but also can expand to several countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and some other neighboring countries.
