BEIJING, Mar 12, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Qualitydress.com's (http://www.qualitydress.com/products/) latest report shows that in 2010 Sony surpassed Samsung and LG to become the largest FPD (Flat Panel Display) manufacturer in India.
Qualitydress.com analyzes that Sony's market share last year in the Indian FPD was 22.1%, representing first position. Almost 60% of the total market share were taken by Sony, Samsung and LG.
The analyst from Qualitydress.com said that Samsung was the largest FPD manufacturer in India 2009, but it dropped to the second place in last year which market share was 21.3%, fell behind Sony. In 2008, LG's market share was the No.1, but it was only 21.0%, Sony and Samsung followed.
The data from Qualitydress.com shows that the total output in 2010 was 15.6 million units, taking 43.7% of the whole Asia Pacific area. In the fourth quarter 2010, the popularity rate of FPD in Asia Pacific area has reached 51%.
Qualitydress.com points out that in fourth quarter 2010, outputs of PFD were 4.3 million units, CRT was still the main technology, and the popularity rate of FPD was 27%, higher than the third quarter's 23%.
