BEIJING, June 13, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Chinaqualitycrafts.com reports that the I Cloud Communication Company in Phoenix, Arizona sued Apple, alleging that Apple's new online storage service named iCloud infringed its trademark, causing confusion in the concept of competing products. I Cloud Communication claims that the product and service Apple intends to provide with the trademark with iCloud, has been using the trademark products are the same or very close to the service offered by iCloud Communication since 2005. However, since Apple released the global media coverage and Apple iCloud services launched a large-scale advertising campaign, the media and the public soon connect the mark iCloud with Apple, not with iCloud Communication.
Chinaqualitycrafts.com (http://www.chinaqualitycrafts.com/products/) points out that I Cloud Communication claims that Apple a long history of willfully infringing other manufacturers' trademark. For example, the Beatles sued Apple using the name Apple, Cisco sued Apple for using the name iPhone and Terrytown sued Apple for using the name "Might Mouse".
Chinaqualitycrafts.com reports that the lawsuit was made last Thursday in U.S. District Court in Arizona. The lawsuit asked the court to issue an injunction to prohibit Apple to use the name iCloud and ask Apple to indemnify for the loss incurred. Apple proposed applications of registering the trade mark name of iCloud in the end of May to the EU Trademarks and Designs Institution. In the last week before the iCloud service was released, Apple also used $4,500,000 to purchase the domain name iCloud.com owned by Swedish Xcerion Company.
