SEAMAC Asia Pacific Mobile App Challenge Winners Announced

SINGAPORE, Feb 10, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - After months of competition, three teams emerged victorious in the inaugural SEAMAC Asia Pacific Mobile App Challenge. The three winning teams, Claco Music (Taiwan), Erdo (Taiwan) and Jetbay (China), shared a cash prize pool of S$25,000, and will also be heading to Barcelona in March to compete against winning teams from the University Mobile Challenge, Arab Mobile App Challenge and EU Mobile App Challenge winners in the Global Mobile Challenge at GSMA Mobile World Congress 2015.

The first-prize winner, Claco Music is a music-training app that allows students to practice their instruments with the help of backing music accompaniment. The app currently has over 2000 tracks in its database. The second-prize winner, Erdo, is a specialized music player app that first measures the quality of the user's hearing and then customizes and optimizes the music being played, enhancing the user experience. The panel of 10 judges who selected the three winners from a field of 26 finalists included Jeffrey Paine, Founding Partner of Golden Gate Ventures; David Dacus, Founder & CEO of HitPlay; James Tan, Managing Partner of QuestVC; Neal Cross, Managing Director & Chief Innovation Officer of DBS Bank; and Paul Sutter, Director of Growth Engine Ventures.
