IoT-enhanced products on display include smart cups that automatically record nutritional information and a smart home device that makes air conditioning more efficient by collecting environmental data including temperature, humidity and air ventilation as well as information about outdoor weather conditions. This is used to automatically achieve the optimum settings for the air conditioner.
The Robotics and Unmanned Tech zone has its own variety of smart technology on hand. Aerial cameras, remote-controlled drones and electric scooters are just some of the innovative projects on show. Throughout the fair period, visitors to the "Unmanned Aerial Vehicle" area will be able to see demonstrations of drones in action.
Connecting businesses to new opportunities

Opportunities in different regions will also be explained, with a seminar focusing on the Shenzhen IT ecosystem taking place tomorrow and another on opportunities in India the following day (15 Oct). "Future Trend of Robotics and Industry 4.0" will be the focus of the Hong Kong Electronic Industry Summit happening on Thursday.
An opening day highlight of the fair is this evening's award presentation of the 2015 HKEIA Award organised by The Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association Ltd. A product demo for the winners on Thursday will give visitors a chance to see these innovations in action.
