HONG KONG, Dec 11, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has appointed Jimmy Ng as the Chairman of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Business Co-operation Committee (BCC). Mr Ng's term of service is from 11 December 2015 to 31 March 2018. He succeeds David Lie, who has been appointed as the Chairman of the Hong Kong-Taiwan Economic and Cultural Co-operation and Promotion Council.
Mr Ng is an experienced businessman and a solicitor, who possesses excellent market knowledge about the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has established extensive networks in the three places. Mr Ng also participates actively in public services in Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) welcomes the appointment of Mr Ng, stating that "his experience and leadership will help to further enhance exchanges between the commercial sectors in Hong Kong and Taiwan."
The BCC was established in 2010. The HKTDC acts as the secretariat of the BCC, and members are drawn from the local business sector. The BCC acts as the counterpart of the Economic Co-operation Committee of the Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council with a view to promoting closer links between the two places.
