NEC Asia Wins IT Managed Services Contract for Resorts World Sentosa

SINGAPORE, Mar 15, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - NEC Asia, a leading IT and network solutions provider and systems integrator based in Singapore, and a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation (HQ: Japan), has been awarded a contract to provide IT managed service support to Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), Asia's first integrated family resort destination.

With this contract, NEC Asia will provide cost efficient IT managed service support to more than 40,000 network points at RWS for a period of 36 months. The project involves 24x7 service desk operations and IT technical support for the entire year, asset management and desktop security operation amongst others.

NEC Asia's CEO, Mr Kiyofumi Kusaka affirmed, "Resorts World Sentosa is a world-class resort in this region, attracting global visitors for both work and play. Thus, IT support services are especially critical to the service-oriented industries as customers often expect smooth and uninterrupted services and operations, and any disruption to deliver services to visitors may create an immediate unpleasant experience or impression. NEC is experienced in providing similar IT managed services in Japan and globally, and we are extremely thrilled to be chosen by Resorts World Sentosa again, to support them for another part of its operations, in this mammoth destination."

"NEC is a renowned and experienced vendor in the IT industry and we are confident that they will be able to provide the managed services required to support our round-the-clock operations as well as value-add to the world-class services we provide," added Mr Yap Chee Yuen, Senior Vice President and Head of Information Technology, Resorts World Sentosa.

Resorts World Sentosa houses Southeast Asia's first and only Universal Studios theme park, the world's largest oceanarium (Marine Life Park), six hotels, a luxury spa (ESPA) and a casino - among an array of entertainment, dining and shopping offerings.

One of the most expensive and extensive integrated resorts in the world, the S$6.59 billion Resorts World Sentosa is developed by Asia's biggest gaming operator, the Genting Group.

In line with its mission to be a regional hub for providing IT services, NEC Asia continues to set its sight in developing and extending its outsourcing services to clients in this region.
