CLEVELAND, Ohio, Dec 17, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The Lubrizol Corporation announces it has completed the acquisition of Active Organics, Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of naturally-derived specialty ingredients including botanical extracts and natural performance ingredients for the personal care industry. The transaction was announced on December 12, 2011.
The addition of Active Organics to Lubrizol's personal and home care product line provides a strong entry into the botanical extracts and natural performance ingredients market and enhances Lubrizol's existing technology in naturally-derived ingredients. Commenting on the transaction, Rick Tolin, Lubrizol vice president and general manager, personal care and home care said, "Together we are creating a portfolio of industry-leading technologies that will help make our customers more successful through expanded access to innovative ingredients, formulations and applications knowledge."
With the close of the transaction, Active Organics is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lubrizol Advanced Materials. Recognized Active Organics' brands include Actiphyte(R) and Actiplex(R) botanical extracts, ActiLipid(R) and ActiMatrix(R).
