SINGAPORE, Jan 18, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - APEC announces the first annual Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Awards (APELA) to be held on May 23 and 24, 2012 in Singapore. APELA, a regional award giving body, will give recognition to international entrepreneurs and business leaders that have displayed excellence in their respective fields and maintained the highest level of social consciousness and sustainable growth within the community they serve.
APELA acts as a business social platform to provide an avenue for a multi-cultural discourse amongst fellow industrialists, academics, and the media to better understand corporate social responsibility that will lead to new business innovations. Such discourse aims to advance greater social harmony in the region. They will draw on the region's best practice case studies of sustainable business models and publish an annual report on the state of social innovation and social responsibilities in 2012.
A regional jury panel composed of industrial experts, researchers and academics from over 10 countries in the Asia-Pacific will assess the corporate performance of nominees and will play a key role in transforming the case studies into implementable action plans to propel future economic growth.
APELA has already received support from across the Asia-Pacific, from small to mid-sized regional firms, commercial associations and local government alike who share the vision and values of APEC. Through APELA, APEC is laying a strong foundation for the new generation of socially-aware business leaders.
