Singapore Airshow, Feb 17, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - ST Aerospace and Aerosim Technologies Inc. (Aerosim) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop advanced maintenance training systems. Together, the two companies will set up maintenance training centres globally at Aerosim academies, ST Aerospace's technical training centres and other locations. Under the terms of the MoU, both parties will collaborate on the development of training curriculum, software and computer-based training (CBT) systems to support aircraft type training for Airbus A320, A330, A340, A350, A380, Boeing 737, 747, 767, 777, 787 and MD11. The training software will be engineered for basic engineering and type courses certified by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and European Aviation Safety Agency, which will be used in both training centres globally. "Aerosim is very excited with the opportunity to work with ST Aerospace on such an important project that will benefit technician training globally. We are faced with a global technician shortage, a problem that can only be solved by looking at alternative training methods and technologies," said Dave RAPLEY, CEO, Aerosim. "This collaboration illustrates ST Aerospace's commitment to developing an advanced and robust maintenance training system for our training needs. With Aerosim's proven expertise in simulation training, we are confident that the technical specialists will benefit from the advanced simulation-based training solutions," said CHANG Cheow Teck, President, ST Aerospace. The initial agreement includes a feasibility study and eventual statement of work to develop the new software, followed by a definitive agreement to deploy technician training globally. About Aerosim
