研究发展中心主要由软件专家组成， 会着重尖端产品和解决方案的技术研究，并根据客户对智能工厂和工业4.0项目的需求进行定制。研究发展中心将成为ASMPT与其行业伙伴之间交换意见 、知识和进一步合作的桥梁。

除了能够为台湾客户提供直接的实际支持外，大量高素质的工程人才，知名大学和研究机构以及政府的大力支持，也是吸引ASMPT在台湾发展的关键原因。 ASMPT在全球拥有7个研发中心，除了台湾， 也包括中国（成都），香港，新加坡，德国（慕尼黑），英国（韦茅斯）和荷兰（伯宁恩）。
目前ASMPT在全球共有1800名研发工程师，预计未来三年将为台湾研发中心聘请多达100名研发工程师。
