HONG KONG, Sept 19, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Chu Kong Petroleum and Natural Gas Steel Pipe Holdings Limited ("Chu Kong Pipe", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group", stock code: 1938), the largest manufacturer and exporter of large longitudinal welded steel pipes in China, is pleased to announce that Mr. Chen Chang, Chairman of the Group, has been awarded the "Outstanding Scientific and Technological Individual of China Iron and Steel Industry".
The "Outstanding Scientific and Technological Individual of China Iron and Steel Industry" was established by The China Iron and Steel Association and The Chinese Society for Metal. This award is aim to promote in-house technology innovation, so as to accelerate technology level and creativity in iron and steel industry. It is also aim to reward distinguished individual who has outstanding accomplishments and contribution for the sustainability of industrial technology since 11th Five-Year Plan.
Mr. Chen Chang, Chairman of the Group, is reputable in the industry and received many awards over years. He has been honored as the "Best Entrepreneur of the Country", "2010 Most Admired Entrepreneurs", " Leading Expert of International Welded Pipe Industry" and others. As the founder of Panyu Chu Kong Steel Pipe Co. Ltd, he is leading the company to become a leader in the industry within 20 years. Through continuous development and several breakthroughs, such as being the first Chinese steel pipe manufacturer of introducing and reshaping UOE production methodology in production line; the first successful Chinese steel pipe manufacturer who has secured contract for oversea project in manufacturing large longitudinal welded steel pipes; and the first and only steel pipe manufacturer in China to develop deep sea welded steel pipes for use under 1,500m depth.
