London, Nov 14, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - A wealth of content, creativity and networking opportunities awaits delegates as Eurobest, the European Festival of Creativity, celebrates its 25th year from 28-30 November in Lisbon, Portugal.
Across three days, the Festival will see some of the world's greatest creative minds descending on Lisbon to offer insight, learning, inspiration and debate on the big industry issues. Highlights include: industry legend, David Droga, Creative Chairman of Droga5, delivering his seminar 'Creativity with a Purpose', focusing on the challenge for agencies and brands to give audiences creative, effective and engaging concepts; Fresh out of the jury room, Sir John Hegarty, will take to the stage for 'Risking Risk', looking at the nature of growth in advertising; Communications & Corporate Identity Director of KLM, Frank Houben, will speak with agency Tribal DDB Amsterdam about their remarkable and bold collaboration through social media; Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for London 2012, will take delegates behind the scenes of one of the most imaginative Olympic opening ceremonies in history; Peter Lord, Co-owner and Creative Director of Aardman, producer of Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run, will reflect on the challenges he's faced negotiating the varied worlds of advertising, broadcast, music videos and feature films; and Robert Senior of Saatchi & Saatchi will look at creative bravery in Spain and the thoughts and processes behind the relaunch of its agency in Madrid under the leadership of one of the most awarded Creative Directors in the world, Pablo Del Campo.
On Friday 30 November, creativity turns to modern art forms and installations as Eurobest welcomes respected artists and designers to the stage. London-based childhood friends Bompas & Parr, creators of edible food art, will take delegates on a journey of culinary delights and surprises as they put their theory forward that real creativity comes from walking in the line of danger and actually realising the idea. Lisbon's graffiti scene will witness a new addition as celebrated Inventor and Calligraffiti artist, Niels Shoe Meulmann, takes over a city wall for two days and creates a new piece of calligraffiti. Once complete he will join Creative Social on stage and take delegates into an exploration of his new art form; a combination of both order and chaos.
The Cinema Sao Jorge, host to the Festival, will provide an unbeatable environment from which to network and interact with fellow industry members in an intimate venue. To compliment this, Eurobest offers dedicated evening network events kicking off with Welcome Drinks, hosted by shots, which will celebrate the first day of the Festival. Giving attendees the chance to socialise and party, on Thursday 29 November bands and acts from some of Lisbon's agencies will perform Mad Sounds at The Hard Rock Cafe. The final night of the Festival will draw to a close with the Awards Ceremony, where the winners will be revealed and honoured before celebrations continue into the night at the official After Party - both will take place at the Patio da Gale, one of the city's most historic and beautiful venues.
Inspiration will be in abundance right from the start of the Festival with exhibitions and screenings of the shortlisted entries showcasing the best work currently coming out of Europe. Alongside this, ACT Responsible will be hosting all day screenings of the best charity ads from around the world.
Supporting the future of the industry, the Young Creatives Integrated Competition will see teams competing to show off their skills and create an eye-catching integrated campaign. Whilst the two new academies will help nurture talent with the Young Marketers Academy offering a dedicated programme for young professionals in client companies and the Young Suits Academy will inspire and equip the continent's young agency account executives.
"This is a truly sensational programme of events which is worthy of a 25th anniversary. Not only is the Festival pulling together some of the finest creative minds into the juries but it is also putting them on stage in front of the delegates, offering unrivalled content from not only European leaders but admired global spearheads too. It's going to be a really exciting Festival," comments Philip Thomas, CEO of Lions Festivals.
