MANILA, July 12, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - The seventh annual Asian Publishing Convention (APC) commenced yesterday at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Manila with 192 delegates from 12 countries. The two-day regional magazine and online industry event for publishers, editors, freelancers and related industry professionals is being led by 22 new media experts through plenary and 'action-learning' bootcamp sessions.
Mr. Cyril Pereira, co-chair of APC 2013 observes that traditional print has little choice but to engage with the next generation of screen-fixated consumers. "The challenge of monetizing digital continues. Managing content smartly for multiple revenue streams is the new game. Packing content between covers and hawking it on newsstands every month has run its course."
Concurrent with APC is the Asian Publishing Awards (APA). The awards, which cover magazine, book and online integration, received 171 entries from 31 media companies across 8 countries. The 50 winners of the GOLD and EXCELLENCE awards will be officially announced and awarded at the Gala Awards Dinner today, at the Mandarin Oriental, Manila.
The APC Content Marketplace is at Ballroom 1 of Mandarin Oriental, Manila. It facilitates publishers, editors, solution providers and freelancers to buy and sell content across borders. It features the Publishing Suite, Digi Center and the Freelance Cafe.
APC 2013 is organized by Exedra Events and presented in cooperation with Strategic Corporate Partner WoodWing. The Publishing Awards co-sponsor is Magzter. Official Industry Partners are Atex, MobStac, and Picsean Media.
As in previous years, APC continues to build on the network of over 30 partners and sponsors who cooperate to make the event happen. For a complete list, visit www.publishingconvention.com.
