- Leading training and event venue provider offers artists an international platform to showcase their talent - Range of artwork mediums submitted by emerging artists for a chance to gain international exposure and share in $28,000 prize pool |
Sydney, Aus, Feb 27, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Cliftons, the leading provider of training and event venues has seen numerous high calibre entries submitted in its 2014 Art Prize competition.
Offering artists the chance to gain international exposure through the annual Art Prize, Cliftons is inviting entries from established and emerging artists across Asia Pacific.
The Cliftons Art Prize, now in its 13th year, helps raise the profiles of local artists and encourages corporate patronage of the arts. Entries can be submitted online at www.cliftonsartprize.com and are then reviewed by a panel of independent and accomplished judges who bring a wealth of experience from the Australian and International art scene. Once finalists are selected, Cliftons will host a four week exhibition at each venue to showcase the finalists' artworks.
One winner at each of Cliftons ten venues will be awarded AUD$2,000 and the overall Cliftons Art Prize winner awarded AUD$10,000 as well as receiving international exposure via Cliftons' broad network of corporate event venues.
Artwork mediums submitted to date for judging in the 2014 Art Prize include oil and acrylic paintings, charcoal sketches, woodcutting, sculptures, photography and a range of mixed media.
Last year's overall winning artist, Camellia Morris, took home the major cash prize as well as receiving international exposure for her artwork titled In the Shallows, painted in acrylic on canvas. The prize provided an opportunity for Camellia to realise some of her artistic dreams.
"The Cliftons Art Prize provided the validation I needed as an emerging artist. Winning the accolade was an achievement I could only have dreamed of. The generous prize money also enables me to work towards my first solo exhibition planned for early 2014," she said.
The competition closes Friday 4th April 2014 with winners announced at exclusive VIP awards evenings to be held across all Cliftons venues in early July.
Sponsors of the 2014 Cliftons Art Prize include online bank, RaboDirect.
