More than 730 artists submitted works for a chance to gain international exposure and win AUD$28,000 in prize money |
Sydney, Aus, May 13, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Cliftons, the leading provider of training and event venues today announced finalists in its 2014 Art Prize Competition.
The annual art competition supports local artists and encourages corporate patronage of the arts across Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Since 2001, the Cliftons Art Prize has provided established and emerging artists across Asia Pacific the opportunity to receive international exposure via Cliftons' broad network of corporate event venues. In addition, one winner at each of Cliftons ten venues will be awarded AUD$2,000 and the overall Cliftons Art Prize winner awarded AUD$10,000.
Entries in the 2014 Art Prize closed on 9th April, with the competition attracting over 730 pieces of artwork, the highest number of submissions received in its 13 year history.
A panel of independent judges spent several weeks reviewing the artists' submissions with the short listed artists being invited to exhibit their artworks at Cliftons' CBD locations across Asia Pacific. The exhibitions run from Monday 2nd June to Thursday 3rd July, ending with exclusive awards evenings at each Cliftons venue where local and regional Cliftons Art Prize winners will be announced.
