Man Yue Extends Partnership with Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen; New Electrolytic Capacitors and Energy Storage Devices Ready for Launch

HONG KONG, June 12, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - Man Yue International Holdings Limited ("Man Yue" or the "Group") (stock code: 894), the fifth largest aluminum electrolytic capacitors ("E-Caps") manufacturer in the world, has signed a second five-year cooperative agreement with the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen ("Tsinghua University"). An array of new products jointly developed by the two parties including aluminum electrolytic capacitors and energy storage devices will be gradually introduced to the market soon.

The Group signed the first cooperative agreement with Tsinghua University in 2004 to set up the about 300 sq. m. "Man Yue Industrial Electro-chemical R&D Centre" at the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen. The research team with more than 10 doctors and doctorate students is led by Professor Feng Guan Ping, President of the Research Institute of Tsinghua University in Shenzhen, and his deputy Dr. Liu Wei Qiang.

It is dedicated to developing innovative technologies for enhancing the capabilities of electrolyte and applications of new materials in the E-Caps field. The fruits of their researches are commercialised for the market by the Group. In the past few years, some of the products launched to market including conductive polymer aluminium solid capacitors ("Polymer Caps") and electric double-layered capacitor ("EDLC"), etc. have gained wide recognition in the academic field as well as the market.

Currently, the centre is developing the second generation of Polymer Caps, which is expected to be introduced to the market in 2010. At the same time, the centre is working on developing new energy storage devices for renewable energy and environmental protection equipment for use mainly in new generation electrical transportation equipment. Those products are scheduled to be launched in between 2010 and 2011.

At the name plaque unveiling ceremony of the "Man Yue Industrial Electro-chemical R&D Centre" in Shenzhen on 11 June 2009, Professor Feng said, "Man Yue and the Research Institute have been cooperating closely for years making significant contribution to the economy and society. It is an outstanding example of how a research institute may serve a Hong Kong enterprise. The centre is a top-grade research institute and a laboratory equipped with advanced testing and inspection facilities. Its goal is to become a major laboratory in the Shenzhen in the next three years."

Ms. Kee Chor Lin, Chairman of Man Yue, said, "The Group is very pleased to extend its partnership with Tsinghua University. Drawing on the strong R&D capabilities and innovative technologies of Tsinghua University and the extensive experience and network of the Group in the capacitor industry, the two parties will continue to work together in developing and launching new capacitors with more excellent functions and energy saving features to support the fast growing consumer electronics sector."
