Iconic tradeshow to feature dedicated conference tracks and Techzones addressing Next Generational Broadband infrastructure, regulatory and business trends

SINGAPORE, Apr 19, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The premier Homeland Security event in Asia, Global Security Asia 2011 concluded with a consensus from international conference delegates, participants and exhibitors that protection of people, property and infrastructure should be the core focus of homeland security for governments across Asia to maintain economic growth. This was endorsed by influential ministerial delegates and governmental representatives from 13 countries and over 4,000 visitors to GSA 2011, held at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Expo, Singapore, from the 15th - 17th March 2011.

According to Andrew Marriott, Managing Director, GSA Exhibitions Pte Ltd, "Despite considerable progress made over the last 40 years in reducing the damage caused by terrorists or insurgencies, the human and financial losses are still unacceptably high. It was clear from our meetings with the various delegates attending GSA 2011 that Homeland Security needed to be implemented in an integrated approach to effectively protect people and reduce economic loses."

The event was also supported by visitors and representatives from the US Department of Commerce, US Department of Homeland Security, UK Trade and Industry, Australian Trade Commission and other governmental agencies in the region, who agreed that global security in today's inter-connected world is no longer isolated and localised. Global security is a collective exercise and inter-governmental partnership is key to success.
