BEIJING, May 26, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - According to the recent research of Chinahomeappliances.com, the shipments of worldwide server factories grew 12.1% to 11.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2011. This is the 5th consecutive quarter that shows a growth trend. Chinahomeappliances.com analyzes that mainly due to the continuous improvement of the global server requirements, shipments of servers in the worldwide increased 2.5% to 1.9 million units in the first quarter of 2011.
Chinahomeappliances.com reports that in terms of factory shipments in the fourth quarter of 2010, HP is the world's largest server manufacturer, having a market share of 31.5%. IBM, with a market share of 29.2%, took the second place. The market share of Dell, Oracle and Fujitsu are accordingly 15.6%, 6.5%, 4.8%. Of the five top vendors, only Fujitsu's sales is less than the first quarter of 201o, an annual decrease of 15.6%. The annual growth rate of sales volume IBM is 22.1%, ranking the first among the top five vendors.
Chinahomeappliances.com also points out that the shipments of worldwide blade server factories in the first quarter of 2011 is 1.8 billion dollars, an annual growth of 23.8%, accounting for 15.2% of the total server factory shipments in the first quarter. HP remains the leading place in blade servers, having a sales market share of 50%. The market share of IBM, Cisco and Dell are accordingly 20.2%, 9.4% and 8.4%.
