Missions to Zero Emissions, Zero Fossil Fuel, Zero Traffic Accident and Zero Traffic Jam |
HONG KONG, July 14, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - Organised by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, the 17th International Conference of Electrical Engineering (ICEE 2011) has successfully ended. At the end of the Conference, representatives from each country collaboratively sign "Hong Kong Declaration,' disclosing to the public their devotion and determination for continual researches and further back-up support toward low-carbon economy.
As the host of the Conference, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers indicates that ICEE 2011 has achieved extensive and significant end results, and would like to thank the support of more than 500 scholars, engineers, researchers and experts from 15 diversified regional areas including Hong Kong, China, Japan, Korea, and many more.
Declaration content includes:
-- Improve energy efficiency for sustainable development - Design highly efficient engineering systems, regularly review and identify technical solutions to increase efficiency of existing systems.
-- Construct and operate clean, efficient and intelligent transportation systems - Strive to gradually achieve zero emissions, zero fossil fuel, zero traffic accident and zero traffic jam.
-- Ensure high reliability of power supply systems - Adopt advanced control and monitoring technologies and solution to enhance power system performance in a safe and reliable manner.
-- Execute low carbon energy policy - Advise and support Government to expedite low carbon energy policy and development, enhance public education for a low-carbon life.
This 17th massive global Conference focuses on "Towards Smart and Low-Carbon Electrical Engineering". The Conference invites many renowned engineering experts including Nobel Laureate Prof Carlo RUBBIA; Mr Andre MERLIN, President of CIGRE, the International Council on Large Electric Systems; and Dr Mohammad SHAHIDEHPOUR, Vice President, IEEE PES Governing Board, USA.
Panelists from diversified regions also share their views on the three big themes: "Railway as a Smart and Green Transportation System," "Energy Choices to Achieve Low Carbon Economy," and "Realization of Electric Vehicle in Asian Cosmopolitan." The overall mission of ICEE 2011 is to exploit the concept of low-carbon economy as an emergence to tackle the problem of climate changes.
