Furnitureschina.com: Samsung LED Accused Siemens Subsidiary of Patent Infringement

BEIJING, July 18, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - According to the recent research of Furnitureschina.com Samsung LED sued Osram Company on Sunday in the U.S. ITC and Asked the United States to ban the import of its products.

Furnitureschina.com reports that Osram is a subsidiary of Siemens Company. Samsung LED prosecute Osram of violations of 8 patents, mainly related to energy-saving LED lights, which is the core technology of light-emitting diode and is used in televisions, mobile phone screens and other products. The litigation objects of Samsung LED in the proceedings include Osram, Osram Opto Semiconductors, Osram Sylvania. The latter two are subsidiaries of Osram Company.

Samsung LED is a joint venture founded by Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics. Samsung LED also said that it has applied in the United States district court in Delaware for a permanent injunction of selling Osram's infringing products.

Furnitureschina.com points out that not long ago, Osram sued Samsung LED in the United States and Germany. On June 6, Osram will take legal action against infringement of Samsung Group and LG Group. By doing so, Osram intends to strengthen its own light-emitting diode technology patents." In response, Samsung LED in last month counterclaimed Osram in South Korea.
