BEIJING, Aug 12, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - The latest research of Tjskl.org.cn shows that in just one year Android system surges and becomes the leader of the smart phone operating system market.
It is reported that in the second quarter of this year, the global terminal sales of Android smart phones reached 468,000 units and the market share reached 43.4%. Last year, Android system accounted for 17.2% of the market share with sales amount of $ 1.07 billion.
Tjskl.org.cn (http://www.tjskl.org.cn/products/) reports that in the last year, the smart phone market was dominated by the Symbian system and the sales were 254,000 units. The market share was 40.9%. According to the survey, in just 12 months, Symbian platform's sales fell to 23.9 units and the market share was 22.1%. Apple's iOS platform ranked the third place with the sales of 19.6 million units and market share of 18.2%.
Tjskl.org.cn points out that in the second quarter the shipments of Android smart phone were 51.9 million units, occupying 48% of the entire market share. The shipment volume of iOS platform was 203,000 units and accounted for 19% of the market share.
