It retains many key partners in the supply chain of iPad 2. It will begin producing its next-generation Tablet PC iPad 3 in the October,.
Chinaqualitycrafts.com reports that Apple's contract manufacturers in the supply chain are ready to supply components. Apple will retain LG Display as its main suppliers of display panel. It gives up Samsung and increases Sharp to be its supplier. Meanwhile, Hon Hai and Foxconn will continue to be responsible for assembling iPad 3.
The analysts of Chinaqualitycrafts.com also points out that Taiwan's backlight module maker Radiant, Touch panel maker TPK Holdings and Wintek Corp. will join the supply chain of Apple's iPad 3. Taiwan's IC design company Richtek Technology Corp is said to have got foundry orders of part of power management integrated circuits used for the display panels for iPad 3.
Chinaqualitycrafts.com reports that the number of components is 100 million units. This shows that Apple did not add too much output of suppliers to avoid affecting the iPad delivery.
