HONG KONG, Sept 5, 2011 - (ACN Newswire) - According to the recent research of Chinaqualitycrafts.com, Intel is said to plan to stop the development of MeeGo platform. It is mainly due to the lack of interest of hardware manufacturers. MeeGo platform was built together by Intel's Moblin platform and Nokia's Maemo platform. It was considered a powerful Linux-based operating system to be used in smart phones (http://www.chinaqualitycrafts.com/products/), tablet PCs, smart TV and the netbook.
Chinaqualitycrafts.com (http://www.chinaqualitycrafts.com/wholesaler/) analyzes that Nokia's decision of using Microsoft's Windows Phone as its mobile platform in its high-end phones to a large extent abolished the co-transaction between Nokia and Intel. Nokia recently introduced the first cell phone running MeeGo system Nokia N9. However, Nokia said that this was an experimental cell phone.
Intel will focus on the hardware products. Chinaqualitycrafts.com reports that Intel will launch the mobile phones configured with Android or Windows Phone operating system (http://www.chinaqualitycrafts.com/buy-Windows_Phone_operating_system/) in the next year.
Chinaqualitycrafts.com points out that Intel does not want to comment on rumors. Intel said it will continue to work on the development of MeeGo and will continue to cooperate with the community to develop and use open source software to help meet the needs of customers and end users.
