NOW SHIPPING -- The world's first Zone 1 / 21 and Division 1 certified tablet, the Tab-Ex(R) 01 |
ASSAMSTADT, GERMANY, 2015年10月28日 - (JCN Newswire) - When developing products for Zone 1 / 21 and Division 1 hazardous areas, where explosive gas or dust may be present, a simple "protective case" approach is a major risk to the site since it cannot prevent an explosion under all conditions, such as when the product develops a fault - a key requirement for mobile devices used in these areas. This is why ecom has worked collaboratively with Samsung to develop the World's first intrinsically safe tablet, which is completely safe for use in Zone 1 / 21 and Division 1 hazardous areas.
Design & engineering breakthrough
Created from state-of-the-art engineering combined with years of practical experience, ecom's Tab-Ex(R) 01 -- based on the Samsung GALAXY Tab Active -- has now been independently certified for use in Zone 1 / 21 and Division 1 hazardous areas. With several new patents protecting ground breaking methods and a new evolutionary approach, the ultra rugged Tab-Ex(R) 01 brings a wide range of applications and new customer focused solutions into Zone 1 / 21 and Division 1 areas for the first time.
Complementing ecom's existing Zone 2 / Division 2 (Z2/D2) Tab-Ex(R) and rugged tablets, this latest Z1/21 / D1 Tab-Ex(R) enables customers to extend current solutions into Z1/21 / D1 hazardous areas with no software changes -- helping to shorten deployment times and reduce cost/risk. And, similar to our Z2/D2 Tab-Ex(R), ecom's Z1/21 / D1 Tab-Ex(R) combines ATEX, IECEx and NEC certifications on one device, making it safer and easier to manage Tab-Ex(R) deployments at different locations around the world.
Paradigm shift
ecom's Tab‐Ex(R) series, leveraging Samsung's know-how, triggers a paradigm shift in the way mobile workers work and interact with each other, their remote experts, and the backend systems even under abnormal conditions. This way of working brings with it the opportunity for improved decision making, improved mobile worker collaboration, and new levels of efficiency and collected data quality related to work tasks performed in hazardous areas.
Operating on Android, the Tab‐Ex(R) can support multiple mobile worker roles performing a range of applications, including Asset Surveys, Material Tracking, Operator Rounds, Inspection and Maintenance. The 8" screen enables the wide and still growing range of applications to become mobile in hazardous areas, allowing workers to view and interact with SCADA/DCS systems, enterprise systems (SAP, Maximo, s.o.), projectmanagment systems and computer aided design systems, when they are moving around the hazardous area. As cost-effective 4G/LTE networks become accessible in the field and offshore, real-time notification of plant changes and abnormalities to team leaders in the field now becomes possible with Tab-Ex(R), providing the ability to remotely view and interrogate notification and root cause data in real‐time to quickly resolve the issue.
Built-in cameras (optional) combined with wireless connectivity allows equipment defects to be captured as inspection and maintenance work is executed. This makes them instantly visible to those who need to diagnose the issue and determine the follow‐on actions.
Forms, documents, drawings and reports that are typically too large for the screen of a PDA or Smartphone, can be displayed on Tab‐Ex(R) without the need for continuous scrolling.
Connectivity - fast and flexible
As private 4G/LTE wireless connectivity is increasingly adopted within hazardous areas, Tab‐Ex(R) ensures access is fast and seamless -- enabling users to quickly access the information needed to perform the task at hand. And, for sites with WiFi access or no wireless access, TabEx provides the flexibility to meet your needs -- preventing costly infrastructure updates.
Central to ecom's Mobile Worker concept, the latest Bluetooth standards are also supported by Tab‐Ex(R), allowing real‐time connectivity to both Bluetooth SmartReady Low Energy 4.0 (BLE) devices as well as older legacy Bluetooth devices. This allows the mobile worker to benefit from expanded Tab-Ex(R) capabilities such as data collection and measuring/monitoring devices, headsets, AutoID, and Bluetooth Beacons for localization.
