The Value of a Legal One-Stop Shop in the Middle East
Rolf Meyer-Reumann of Meyer-Reumann & Partners, a law firm at the marcus evans European Corporate Counsel Summit 2012, on the value in having a single address in the Middle East to contact for legal services.

London, Sept 25, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - "None of the large international law firms have a diversified network of offices in the Middle East like we do or are able to give clients a one-stop shop for legal services like we can," said Rolf Meyer-Reumann, Partner, Meyer-Reumann & Partners. With nine offices in six countries across the Middle East, this year's priority for the firm is to find additional internationally operating companies and law firms to partner with, to expand on that, he added.

A legal firm sponsoring the upcoming marcus evans European Corporate Counsel Summit 2012, in Noordwijk aan Zee, The Netherlands, 7 - 9 October, Meyer-Reumann discusses the value of a one-stop legal shop in the Middle East and his firm's plans for establishing partnerships in the region to cater to that need.

- What is your main priority this year?

Our main priority is to expand our office network by finding strong partners, internationally operating companies and law firms, who are interested in having one law office in the Middle East. We have built up a network of nine offices in six countries, and our goal is to extend that further with informal and formal partnerships with law firms.

Many companies are finding a value and strength in having only one address in the Middle East to contact for legal services, whether they are in Iraq, Saudi, UAE, Oman, Egypt or elsewhere. Independent law firms cooperating internationally is a cost effective alternative to Magic Circle and Silver Circle law firms, who will not always have the local knowledge to cater to that need.

- What experience and knowledge do you bring to the table?

We are a ME-law firm of European standards, with a network of offices across the Middle East region. Our main focus is corporate and commercial laws. Our strength is in the local knowledge we bring from six countries. Foreign companies or law firms may contact us in Dubai to get a service for almost any country in the Middle East. We combine local knowledge and Western quality.

It is very valuable and convenient for clients to contact one law firm and get local knowledge from many countries, with only one lawyer in charge of their interests. Our legal knowledge of the Middle East was accumulated since the early 80's and stored in a sizable indoor legal databank, which is maintained by three IP engineers and some paralegals and can be tapped by all M&P lawyers, who all have direct access to our Citrix Server in Abu Dhabi.

- Aren't there large law firms that also operate across the Middle East? What is the value add of working with an independent firm?

Sure, there are a number of large international law firms, but none of them has a diversified network of offices in the Middle East like we do. Nine offices at prominent places in seven Middle East countries is unique.
