China, Dec 7, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Thomson Reuters, the world's leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, today announced the launch of the China Tax Awards 2012.

With over 80 entries, the awards recognise the achievements of outstanding tax practitioners in China and aim to highlight their contribution to the profession.

The esteemed panel of jurors comprised of Thomson Reuters, academics from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Institute of Tax and Scientific Research and reputed CFOs across China, will shortlist a selection of entries that best meet the criteria set out in the rigorous judging process.

Five awards will be selected by the China Tax Awards jury:

* Tax Practitioners of the Year
* Tax Leadership of the Year
* Tax Risk Management Practitioner of the Year
* Tax Practice Elite of the Year
* Tax Service Provider of the Year

Winners of the awards will be announced during the Golden Tax Summit (GTS) China Tax Director Conference, to be held on December 13-14, 2012 in Shanghai.

The creation of the China Tax Awards 2012 comes at a time when tax professionals in China are faced with a myriad of challenges brought upon by the changing international tax environment and domestic tax reforms.

"We are very excited by the high standards of nominations put forward. In determining winners of the awards, we seek exceptional tax practitioners that demonstrate leadership and innovation across all aspects of tax operations - from compliance to strategic value-adding activities," added Charlotte Rushton, managing director Asia Pacific and EMEA for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.

"The China Tax Awards 2012 helps to identify the best tax practitioners in China today. All winners set an example and highlight good practise in the profession of taxation", said Mr. Li Feng, general manager of GTS, Golden Finance.
