(NASDAQ: ZHNE), a global pioneer in FTTx network access solutions, today announced a new MXK(TM) multi-service access node (MSAN) system deployment with VOLstate.net, an ISP providing voice and data services to business customers in Dayton, Tenn. Through leveraging Zhone's industry leading MXK, VOLstate.net built a new Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) to support high-speed Internet, hosted PBX and VoIP services to its current footprint of 500 business subscribers.
Founded in 1996, VOLstate.net currently offers business customers a wide range of Internet solutions such as DataStash online backup services and RevTel hosted PBX services. The company distinguishes itself from other ISP companies by owning and operating its own network. VOLstate.net's decision to deploy GPON comes from the need of its customers to go beyond the bandwidth offered by the local cable company and incumbent phone company.
