MANILA, Mar 26, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - The 7th Asian Publishing Convention (APC) is scheduled for July 11 & 12, 2013 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Manila. The regional magazine and online industry event for publishers and industry professionals will run for two information-packed days.
An action-learning program is at the heart of the experience: 2-day Crash Course on NEW Digital basics - Boot camp for editors, publishers & freelancers: Get it right or PERISH!
The Content Hub initiative to leverage content excellence for communities and targeted advertising - using digital editions, screen platforms, mobile interactivity and smart databases will trigger new revenue streams.
APC 2013's triple mission: - Teach digital skills for profitable audience growth & revenues; - Create a CONTENT CONSORTIUM for publishers to buy and sell quality content; - Connect independent content creators (freelance writers, designers & photographers) to content owners for wider choice and quality.
When asked if the event is worth attending, co-chair Cyril Pereira said "The publishing industry is in a whirlwind of digital disruption. The next generation of consumers has personal mobile devices for access on the go. Advertisers seek targeted reach without waste. APC brings digital gurus to guide publishers directly. Our mission is to equip publishers to leverage new opportunities."
APC 2013 is for those who can make or influence a deal and senior editors who can use the Content Hub to make content a revenue stream. Also invited are Licensors and Licensees - Publishers, Editors, Booksellers, Agents, Writers, Freelance Designers and Illustrators, Translators, Packagers and Distributors, Digital developers and Solution suppliers.
The Asian Publishing Awards (APA) incorporating the Asian Magazine Management Awards, the Asian Book Publishing Awards, and the Asian Corporate Communications Awards is concurrent with the convention to showcase outstanding multimedia initiatives.
APC 2013 is presented by Strategic Corporate Partner WoodWing and Cooperating Partners PLDT SME Nation and Writer's Block Philippines.
