Launch of new Focal Scala V2 at KLAV Show 2013

Retailing at about S$39,950 (RM126,333), the Focal Scala V2 is different from other models of the Focal Utopia III range for which the goal was to bring innovative improvements to the Scala's original bass woofer, cross-over circuitry and mid-range drivers by incorporating the same engineering brilliance of the Focal loudspeaker family. Amongst its several key improvements, the Focal Scala V2 boasts a re-engineered bass unit that encompasses four key innovations:

- A new voice coil with a more rigid support provides better heat dissipation, thus avoiding the dynamic compression and bringing a better control of the "break up" of the woofer diaphragm for a better "focus" of the sound stage.
- A new alignment of the bass reflex tuning to take advantage of these woofer improvements. Result: bass with more density and better control.
- Decompression of the voice coil support have significantly improves the linearity and reduced distortion between 100 to 300Hz.
- The internal damping of the midrange was readjusted in order to gain an enhanced realism and ensure a perfect dynamic linearity between bass and midrange.

Focal-McIntosh system showcase at KLAV Show 2013

Visitors to the KLAV Show 2013 will stand a chance to experience an encore performance of the legendary Focal and McIntosh duet, which was a key draw of the show in the previous year. The show this year will feature the Focal Stella Utopia EM, powered by 2 pieces of MC1.2KW, 1,200-watt per channel mono bloc amplifiers from McIntosh Laboratory.
