7200BX Series Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) offers scalability, cost efficiency and sustainability |
SINGAPORE, Sept 19, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. (TSE:6504) announced the release of its 7200BX Series Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) system for the Asian market. The latest series of UPS is equipped with new 3-level reverse blocking IGBT technique which results in a high performance of output efficiency. This particular IGBT module is a part of the company's own semiconductor R&D technology.
The demand for UPS has increased in the recent years in Asia as a source of backup power in the event of outages on production lines and for IT equipments. It is estimated that the market for UPS in Asia for 10 kVA to 500 kVA range is worth more than SGD$1.1 billion with a growth rate of around 10% a year. Singapore in particular has poised itself in recent years as a regional data centre hub and the upcoming Data Centre Park targeted to be operational in 2016 further cements the claim.
Hayama Hiromu, CEO of Fuji Electric Asia Pacific and India said, "Fuji Electric has developed the 7200BX Series UPS to meet the specific needs of the Asian market. We see a growing demand for UPS in Singapore as the country continues to establish itself as an economic and info-communications hub." The 7200BX Series UPS is highly scalable and is designed for flexible expansion. Customers can easily increase the capacity by adding power unit modules (20 kVA module) for up to 200 kVA in single unit operation. This will enable customers to experience greater cost efficiency by keeping initial investment to a minimum and allowing them to expand at a later time if/when the need arises.
By utilizing its own original AT-NPC3 (new 3-level) IGBT, Fuji Electric has realized a total output efficiency of up to 97%. This has reduced the amount of power loss and enhanced total energy savings. In addition, the total output efficiency is further improved for UPS with capacity of above 40 kVA when operating at low load conditions. For a more reliable UPS system, power unit modules simply need to be configured in a redundant system manner. Up to four UPS units can be configured in parallel (for increased capacity) for n+1 redundant operation system.
The 7200BX series UPS will be manufactured and produced from our new factory in Thailand and the production lead-time will be shortened.
