Zhone's newest VDSL2 provides economic solution for faster speeds through vectoring |
Oakland, CA, Oct 21, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZHNE), a global leader in FTTx network access solutions, today announced the release of Zhone's MX-160-LT-8P (8 Port) VDSL2 at the Broadband World Forum show in Amsterdam. The new compact DSLAM provides next generation features in a compact form-factor that is ideal for Fiber-to-the-Node, Curb, Building and Basement deployments, making it simple and cost-effective to deliver uncompromised triple-play services throughout serving areas.
The MX-160-LT-8P supports rich triple-play services on each subscriber port and supports simple and cost-effective transport on both copper or fiber. It is fully remote-managed, allowing carriers to reduce service turn-up intervals and reduce truck rolls, ultimately lowering operational costs and improving customer service. The MX-160-LT-8P effectively enables service providers to offer compelling bundles of multi-line voice, high-speed Internet access and multi-set IP video (including HDTV) over their existing copper infrastructure.
Zhone's MX products, including the MX-160-LT-8P, are specifically designed for easy configuration and management through a built-in Web Graphical Interface. Its compact design allows easy deployment in remote cabinets, telecom closets or any space-constrained locations. This low-power, fully programmable, high performance solution enables service providers to cost-effectively generate additional revenue through their triple-play offerings, including the different iterations of video services emerging in the marketplace.
"VDSL2 enables operators to provide their customers with faster speeds with this 30A capable solution at lower cost," said Brian Caskey, chief marketing officer at Zhone Technologies. "This VDSL2 solution created by Zhone can be defined by its ease of use and packet processing/switching capability to support triple-play, allowing carriers to substantially improve their services."
As an end-to-end solution, Zhone's VDSL2 Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and Central Office Equipment (CO) products offer high-speed, long reach and low cost solutions for multi-tenant and multi-dwelling units, remote terminal and central office deployments.
Zhone will also be exhibiting at the Broadband World Forum, held in Amsterdam on Tuesday, October 22 through Thursday, October 24. For more information on Zhone's MX-160-LT-8P or the other solutions in the Zhone FiberHome(TM) portfolio, please visit Zhone at its BBWF exhibit, booth #F29 or visit the Zhone website.
