easyCash GmbH to Start Accepting JCB Cards in Germany

TOKYO, May 2, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, is pleased to announce easyCash GmbH (easyCash), an Ingenico Group company, has started JCB merchant acquiring operations in Germany and will soon begin acquiring in several additional European countries.

easyCash holds acquiring licenses for all common debit and credit cards, continuously expanding their business as a leading full-service provider throughout Europe. This new partnership further enhances the acceptance portfolio of JCB merchants in Germany, since easyCash merchants will become enabled for JCB acceptance from April 2014 onwards.

JCBI has been steadily increasing its presence in Europe by continual merchant network expansion. Currently, JCB cardmembers can pay with their cards at approximately 25 million merchants worldwide, including several million in Europe. Germany is an important strategic country for JCBI, where it already has an alliance with the German "girocard" debit system in place. The partnership with easyCash will further enhance JCB's footprint in Germany, increasing overall brand visibility for JCB cardmembers visiting the region.

Mr. Ryuji Shinzawa, Executive Vice President, Head of Sales and Marketing Headquarters / Americas and EMEA commented, "The European acquiring market is changing rapidly with new competitors entering the market whilst we see existing players continuing their growth. We are pleased to welcome our new partner to the JCB network. I'm certain this new partnership will bring more benefit and convenience to JCB cardmembers."
