Builds quality data center infrastructure and captures the immense opportunities in the cloud computing market
According to the China IDC industry development report, the market size of the IDC industry in China in 2013 amounted to RMB26.25 billion, representing a growth of 24.7%. The increase was driven by the development of cloud computing and big data business as well as the rise in demand from internet customers. Among these factors, the cloud computing market holds the greatest potential. The market size of the IDC market in China is expected to reach RMB54.83 billion by 2016, a growth of more than 30%. As a trusted information and communications technology solutions provider in the Asia Pacific region, CITIC Telecom CPC has been keeping pace with market developments by expanding its high quality data centers and promoting cloud computing for business applications, including SmartCLOUD(TM), a one-stop integrated suite of cloud computing solutions.
Following receipt of the IDC/ICP cross-regional operating license by its subsidiary in China, CITIC Telecom CPC has begun implementation of its large-scale data center plan across the Asia Pacific region, with the extensive development of data centers in Hong Kong, mainland China and Macau. The objectives are to build a more efficient business platform; enhance the company's competitiveness and service scope in the data center business; and develop SmartCLOUD(TM) cloud computing and storage infrastructure services. Correspondingly, CITIC Telecom CPC launched the Ap Lei Chau data center, located in southern Hong Kong, in March. The center possesses top-notch infrastructure and high-quality solutions, ensuring the provision of quality data center services to its customers, and thereby enhancing their competitive advantage and strengthening their business development.
Furthermore, China Entercom has commenced the IDC construction project in Shanghai. Through China Entercom, CITIC Telecom CPC also has plans to set up data centers in key cities across China, including Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. These data centers will help create a nationwide operation network, complementing the seven cloud computing centers already in place in the Asia Pacific region. Enterprises will be able to enjoy world-class data center services, cross-regional cloud service deployment in minimal time and benefit from high cost-effectiveness. By combining solid infrastructure, extensive data center services coverage, diversified cloud computing solutions and a series of value-added services, CITIC Telecom CPC has become a professional ICT and cloud computing solutions provider with the best service quality and most comprehensive product lines. Consequently, customers are able to benefit from one-stop services, leading to greater business efficiency.
Mr. Stephen Ho, Chief Executive Officer of CITIC Telecom CPC, said, "The rising demand for cloud-based applications and the dawn of the big data era presents both challenges and opportunities for data center businesses. To address these challenges, we have proactively responded to capture opportunities presented by the booming data center market. We are allocating significant resources to develop data centers in mainland China and Macau to enhance the company's cloud services. We are also increasing development of cloud services by leveraging our competitive advantage in the data center market." The IDC/ICP certification is a business license that permits service providers to deliver telecom services over public network infrastructure, and is a prerequisite for internet access, cloud services and data center operation in mainland China. "The securing of the IDC/ICP service license by China Entercom can help CITIC Telecom CPC realise greater synergies and enrich the scope of cloud services, ensuring enterprise customers can enjoy quality data center infrastructure regardless of location. By deploying a resources pool model for the IT system, customers can benefit from high flexibility and scalability, and thereby easily achieve sophisticated management automation. This enables them to cope with changes in their future business development, achieve business expansion and better business management. CITIC Telecom CPC is committed to providing the impetus behind its customers' business growth. We will continue to grasp opportunities in the international business market and strive to achieve win-win results with our customers."
