Fashion Takes to the Shops and Streets of Hong Kong
Series of Creative Events in Advance of Next Month's HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week

HONG KONG, June 19, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - A series of fashion-related activities and events will take place ahead of the HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, which opens 7 July and continues through 10 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Fashion Takes to the Shops and Streets of Hong Kong

Stickyline, an art house based in Hong Kong, has created an installation piece echoing the traditional use of residential space in Hong Kong. The piece, "Hong Kong Fashion," will be on display, 23 June to 22 July, at the former Police Married Quarters (PMQ) in Central, while seven ex-finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest (YDC) have produced a series of handbags and accessories to celebrate the recent opening of HKTDC Design Gallery at PMQ.

Design Gallery at PMQ

The items, which will be on show from 23 June to 22 July at the new Design Gallery, are: purses made with neoprene and tanned leather, by Mountain Yam; bracelets made with film strips featuring scenes of local streets, by Aries Sin; distinctively patterned clutches from Walter Kong; acrylic necklaces, floral-patterned tote bags and teardrop crystal necklaces by Sandra Chau; heart-shaped wallets from Kurt Ho; elegant and sporty bracelets by Kenax Leung; and baseball caps, inspired by arcade games, from Nelson Leung, the Overall Winner of this year's YDC.

Fashionally Collection

On the fair's opening day, FASHIONALLY, the HKTDC's local fashion website, will present 11 YDC alumni showcasing their latest collections. Fashion designers participating in the FASHIONALLY fashion parade are: Aries Sin, Chewthecud, Chloe Sung, Kenax Leung, Kurt Ho, Mim Mak, Mountain Yam, Nelson Leung, Sandra Chau, Walter Kong and Wong Tsz Yan.

Fashion Map

FASHIONALLY has also teamed up with Stickyline to create a special-edition headpiece for customers of the fashion shops listed in the Hong Kong Fashion Map. A search engine, the map was created by FASHIONALLY to help fashion lovers locate shops carrying Hong Kong fashion brands.

Starting 23 June, customers will receive the headpiece, worth HK$380, with any purchase of two or more Hong Kong products at 11 Hong Kong Fashion Map shops, while supplies last. Participating outlets and fashion designers include Harrison Wong, Magenta, novelty lane, Voulez Vous and Yeung Chin.

Fashion-Beauty Collaboration

Some 1,200 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions are expected to take part in this year's Fashion Week. Apart from the FASHIONALLY fashion parade, NARS Cosmetics will host an 8 July "Runway to Realway" presentation, unveiling the 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection. The international beauty brand will also collaborate with three ex-YDC designers - Elizabeth Lin, Mim Mak and Mountain Yam - to launch a new beauty product: the Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow.

Trend Forecasting

A series of seminars and workshops will also take place, highlighting such international trend forecasters as Peclers Paris, Style Vision Asia and WGSN.
