| Fair Features 40+ Events, from Fashion Forecasts to Parades |
HONG KONG, July 7, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Some 1,250 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions are participating in the 21st HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer, which opened today and continues through 10 July, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The four-day fair, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), welcomes first-time exhibitors from Madagascar, Morocco, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Seven group pavilions are also on hand, led by the Chinese mainland, with the fair's biggest pavilion, and newcomer Thailand.
Cruise Sensation
Under the theme "Cruise Sensation," Fashion Week offers buyers a wide variety of theme zones, including: Emporium de Mode, International Fashion Designers' Showcase, World of Fashion Accessories, Bridal & Evening Wear and Infant & Children's Wear.
This year, two new areas have been added to the fashion mix: Activewear & Sportswear, and Cashmere & Wool. In addition, the Small-Order Zone spotlights 130 garment racks and showcases targeting buyers looking to source products in quantities from five to 1,000 pieces. The Small-Order Zone is also online, at smallorder.hktdc.com, with instant payment via PayPal and shipping arrangements available for select products.
Runway Glamour
In all, more than 40 events are being showcased at the fair, including eight fashion parades and nine house shows. They include this morning's brand spotlight on Clara Tan, Ika Butoni and ZeevanCo by Meggie and Wednesday's Macao Fashion Parade. In addition, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Hong Kong Design Institute and the Hong Kong Raffles School of Continuing Education are all highlighting collections of student designers.
This afternoon, "FASHIONALLY COLLECTION #3" presents 11 fashion collections from past winners and finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest. Tomorrow afternoon, international cosmetics brand NARS will hold a "Runway to Realway" presentation, unveiling the 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection. It is also collaborating with three past YDC designers to launch a new eye shadow series at the fair.
Fashion Forecasting
Seminars and forums are also featured throughout the fair, with a particular focus on trend forecasting. This afternoon, the WGSN Group leads a seminar on fashion forecasting for autumn/winter 2015/16. Tomorrow, Style-Vision Asia looks at spring/summer 2015 womenswear trends, while a Wednesday seminar spotlights Peclers Paris and product development directions for fall/ winter 2015/16.
Other featured seminars include tomorrow afternoon's focus on fashion branding, led by Ning Lau, founder of PR agency who are invited, and Wednesday afternoon's look at visual merchandising, featuring AMENPAPA Director Geoff Poon.
International Markets
Buyer Forums spotlight the Polish market this afternoon, the Chinese mainland market, as well as Australia and the United States, tomorrow afternoon, and the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore markets on Wednesday morning.
Nearly 90 buying missions from 45 countries and regions, counting more than 5,000 buyers from about 3,500 companies, are on hand. They include Minkpink from Australia, Dashang Group Co, Ltd and Hiking Group from the Chinese mainland, M6 Boutique from France, Milktee Clothing from Malaysia, Kanematsu Textile Corporation from Japan and the Apparel Group from the United Arab Emirates.
