| Zhone's ELITE partner certification addresses demands for POL networks in Western Canada |

(NASDAQ: ZHNE), a global leader in the fiber access market, today announced Zhone, along with its FiberLAN brand, has certified The Axis Group of Companies (AGC) to become the first Canadian Certified POL Installer under its ELITE partner certification program. The certification enables AGC to support the growing demand for greener technologies like Passive Optical LAN (POL) in Western Canada. In order to achieve the certification credentials, Zhone worked with AGC employees to help them complete numerous online training seminars in early 2014, as well as onsite exams at Zhone's headquarters in Oakland, Calif.
AGC decided to pursue the certification to expand industry awareness and answer the need for greener technologies within the natural resource, education, tourism, hospitality, healthcare, retail, business, government and entertainment sectors in Western Canada. AGC's new fiber-optic ELITE partner certification from Zhone makes it possible for the company to provide more sustainable technology solutions in Canada, such as the design, build and expansion of POL networks.
