SINGAPORE, June 22, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - The Japan Water Forum is organizing the "Japan Pavilion" and "Japan Business Forum" at Singapore International Water Week 2009, which will take place on 22-26th June, 2009, Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The Japan Water Forum will organize the "Japan Business Forum", which will take place on Thursday, 25th June, 2009, 13:30-15:00. The event will be co-chaired by Mr. Chua Taik Him, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, International Enterprise Singapore and Dr. Kotaro Takemura, Secretary General, Japan Water Forum & Water Security Council of Japan.
JBF Speech: Team Water Japan & Water Security Council of Japan
The business forum will be officially opened by Dr. Kotaro Takemura. In Japan, the Water Security Council of Japan has recently been established as an organization under the banners of political leadership, public participation, and full cooperation between public and private sectors. It intends to assist the activities of "Team Water Japan", through which private companies, academic experts, government ministries, local governments and civil society are to collaborate beyond sectoral boundaries for the resolution of domestic as well as global water issues.
JBF Speech: Japanese Government Efforts for promoting International Water Business
In response to the establishment of the Water Security Council of Japan, the Japanese Government established a coordination committee for water security among 13 ministries. On behalf of the ministry in charge of international water business promotion, Mr. Shinichi Ayuha, Administrator for Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Waste and their Disposal, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, will introduce two types of international business promotion approaches, such as a water-saving and environmentally-conscious water circulation project and a waterfront-type aqua community project.

With increasing financial demand for water business activities around the world, the representative of Japans policy-based financing institution, Mr. Takashi Hongo, Special Advisor and Head of Environment Finance Engineering Department, Japan Bank for International Cooperation will show an innovative financing approach, Public Private Financing Partnership.
JBF Speech: New Private Sector Initiative on Water
With increasing international water business markets opening, the Global Water Recycle System Association (GWRA) launched its activities for providing comprehensive water recycling solutions. As of April 2009, 38 Japanese private companies were participating in GWRA. Dr. Masaru Kurihara, Chairman of the Consultative Committee, Global Water Recycle System Association Japan will present the activities of the new initiative and its future prospects in the market.

Under the concept of Team Water Japan, 11 organizations including Japan Water Forum will exhibit their Japan's total water solutions, through their proven and cutting-edge technologies & systems, services and best practices, to the water business marketplace actors at the Japan Pavilion. A wide range of exhibitors will be represented, such as some of the leading suppliers in the water treatment markets, membrane process, and also a venture enterprise with innovative water conservation technology, a leading water utility, and business association for international water business activities.
