Strengthening Advantages in Airport Asphalt Pavement Maintenance Industry |
HONG KONG, Nov 10, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Limited ("Freetech", or the "Group"; HKSE: 6888), a leading and fast-growing service provider in the asphalt pavement maintenance ("APM") industry using "Hot-in-Place" recycling technology, today announced the successful completion of its trial asphalt pavement maintenance service by using "Hot-in-Place" technology at the Zhanjiang Airport in the Guangdong Province, the People's Republic of China ("PRC").
It is the second completion of airport asphalt pavement runway maintenance project after the first successful application of Hot-in-Place Technology at the Changsha Huanghua International Airport runway in the Hunan Province, the PRC. The successful completion of this project demonstrates that the Group's Hot-in-Place technology has been able to fully meet the high standards requirement of airport asphalt pavement maintenance specifications and strengthen the leading advantages in this emerging market.
After the successful completion of the Huanghua Airport runway project and Zhanjiang Airport runway project, the solution for the airport asphalt pavement by using the Group's Hot-in-Place technology has attracted the attention from civil aviation of China Mainland. The construction of airports and flight routes have rapidly developed in China Mainland which will bring a considerable amount of asphalt runway maintenance business. Besides the road and highway maintenance areas, the airport asphalt runway maintenance projects represent a new market which has been developed by the Group and could bring new revenue and profit contribution to the group.
This project further demonstrates the features and advantages of the Group's technology. As the China Civil Aviation Administration requires "non-stop flight construction" on airport runway maintenance, the maintenance work on airport runways is required to be conducted between after the completion of night flight and before the commencement of morning flight, the flexibility and efficiency of the Group equipment and technologies have been fully reflected. The test indexes show that the project has satisfied the requirements of Civil Aviation Administration of China which proves that the Group's Hot-in-Place technology can apply on the higher difficulty airport runway project.
Mr Sze Wai Pan, Chairman of Freetech said: "The Group notices that the civilian airport asphalt runway maintenance area has a great demand and the potential development is very optimistic. We are pleased to see the success of the Group to develop new business opportunities. We will continue to take full advantages of the efficiency and quality of the technologies, expand our business area and bring more value to the Group in the future."
About Hot-in-Place Technology
Hot-in-Place Technology is used in asphalt pavement maintenance, an on-site, in-place technology that rehabilitates deteriorated asphalt pavements through heating, scarifying and mixing the damaged asphalt materials with new materials and thereby minimises the use of new materials. The primary purpose of this process is to repair pavement damages such as cracks, ruts and holes, and bumps.
