Three Major Hong Kong Trade Fairs To Usher In The New Year
Toys & Games, Baby Products, Stationery Fairs Open Next Week

HONG KONG, Jan 6, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is kicking off the New Year with a trio of major trade fairs opening next week at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair which is co-organised by HKTDC and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, run for four days from 12-15 January. Together, the three fairs will welcome over 2,600 exhibitors from around the world.

Three Major Trade Fairs To Usher In The New Year

HKTDC Acting Executive Director Benjamin Chau noted that the recent relaxation of relevant government policies on the Chinese mainland could result in an additional one to two million newborns each year. This trend, together with the steady economic growth of the Chinese mainland, would boost the prospects for the toy and baby products markets in the Chinese mainland, Mr Chau said. Smart and electronic products are still popular worldwide. The global market trend is to integrate new technologies with a variety of traditional products in order to develop more new items. A lot of related products are on display in the toys, baby products and stationery fairs, Mr Chau said.

Fun And Games

This year's 41st edition of the Toys & Games Fair welcomes around 2,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions, making this the largest event of its kind in Asia. New to the fair this year is a Sporting Goods and Playground Facilities zone comprising such product categories as bicycles, scooters, sportswear, inflatable toys and playground facilities as well as sports equipment.

Fair Highlights

Other highlights include the Smart-Tech Toys zone, the Therapy Toys Display, Educational Toys & Games and Kidult World. The popular Brand Name Gallery will once again showcase brands reputed for their quality and safety. They include 4M, Beleduc, Boo, Educo, CMC, COG - EIN-O SCIENCE, EverEarth, Eastcolight, Geoworld, Gund, Hape, INTEX, Moulin Roty, Osprey, PlanToys, Vtech and Welly.

Talking Toys

The Hong Kong Toys Industry Conference (14 Jan) is a key industry event with influential speakers from Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and the United States taking part. The theme of this year's conference is "Evolution of Toys Industry". Participants will discuss the challenges brought about by innovation, rising production costs, international safety standards and the Chinese mainland market. Utku Tansel, Head of Toys and Games Research at Euromonitor International and Elliot Kaye, Chairman of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are among the conference speakers.

Baby Business Boom

Now in its sixth year, the Baby Products Fair hosts more than 470 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions with first-time exhibitors coming from Croatia and Mexico. Over 40 renowned brands are featured in Brand Name Gallery, including Goodbaby, Joovy and Biba Toys. There will be a diverse range of baby and nursery products on show, including equipment, furniture, toys, toiletries, apparel and gift sets.

Growth Spurt

The Feeding, Nursery and Maternity Products zone and the Baby Food and Healthcare Products zone have been expanded this year to accommodate more quality products. Meanwhile, the World of Strollers and Gear zone includes more than 130 exhibitors showcasing strollers, baby gear, car seats and related accessory products.

Winning Formula

A Joint Networking Reception on 12 January brings together participants from both the Toys & Games Fair and the Baby Products Fair to expand their business contacts and explore new business opportunities. The reception also includes a presentation ceremony for winners of this year's Hong Kong Toys and Baby Products Award. Winning and selected products will be on display at Hall 3F&G Concourse during the fair period.

Stationery Fair

The 15th edition of the Hong Kong International Stationery Fair brings together over 220 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions. Pavilions representing Korea, Taiwan and Thailand will showcase innovative ideas and high-quality products.

The Pen & Paper zone focuses on paper and printing products, and writing instruments.
