- Honda proposes a Scandinavian garden style with Honda products -

TOKYO, Mar 13, 2015 - (JCN Newswire) - Honda announced that it will be proposing a Scandinavian garden style, with exhibitions including gas-powered tillers decorated with illustrations of roses, and its new open sports "mini-vehicle," at the 17th International Roses and Gardening Show (Tuesday, May 12 through Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Seibu Prince Dome - formerly known as the Seibu Dome - in Tokorozawa city, Saitama).

Honda Roses and Gardening Show

Honda has supported "Co-existence with Nature," the theme of the International Roses and Gardening Show, Japan's largest gardening exhibition, participating in the event 10 times in the past, proposing a natural outdoor life with Honda's power products, such as mini tillers and portable generators ideal for vegetable gardens and gardening in general.

At this year's show, Honda's "Rose & Potager(1)" home garden arrangement theme will be on display with a Scandinavian garden style. The Honda booth, titled "A Hygge(2) treat for a Special Day in their favorite Garden," will portray a white pearl garden of a married couple celebrating their Pearl Wedding anniversary(3) with uniquely painted and decaled Honda products.

The Honda products on display, such as a new open sports "mini-vehicle" and motorcycles which add fun to various lifestyles, and tillers, lawnmowers and generators supporting gardening work, will be decorated with illustrations and paintings of roses.

The Denmark-style display house and garden will be constructed by "Hello Woods," Honda's nature experience center at Twin Ring Motegi in Tochigi. The house and gardening scene interior / exterior will be colored in chalk paint by Annie Sloan Japan by DCT INC. The garden will be planted with popular, strong and easy-to-grow roses by rose-creator Takunori Kimura, and decorated with pearl-color themed flowers by Yosuke Katayama (shokubutsu freak). Decorative gardening will be arranged by gardening counselor Michiko Okai, a housewife gardener popular for her gardening ideas suitable for daily life, to complete the display portraying a rich and stylish garden-life with Honda products.

(1) Potager: French word for vegetable garden for decoration, in addition to growing vegetables for consumption. Potager began with the geometrically displayed vegetable gardens of the French royal palace, and became popular with English gardeners and people who loved nature. The gardening style has been introduced in numerous gardening magazines, and is popular with home gardeners and enthusiasts as the "admirable potager."
(2) Hygge: Danish word for a "rich and pleasurable atmosphere through the connectedness between people."
(3) Pearl Wedding Anniversary: The 30th anniversary for a wedded couple, to wholeheartedly express gratitude and wish future happiness for each other.
