Elite Writers, Record Number of Exhibitors Taking Part |
HONG KONG, July 15, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - The 26th HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair opened today and continues through 21 July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). A record number of more than 580 exhibitors are taking part in the event, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), including new vendors from Hungary, India and Vietnam.

World Of Words
Under the theme, "Reading the World - Love at First Book", the fair welcomes a bevy of leading international writers including Swiss author Alain de Botton, British historian and novelist Simon Sebag Montefiore and biographer and journalist Carol Thatcher as well as Booker Prize-winner Ben Okri. The Book Fair's biggest-ever Japan Pavilion is showcasing literature and cultural products from Niigata, Wakayama, Kitakyushu, Hyogo, Gifu and Obihiro. A traditional Japanese Rakugo master Katsura Sunshine is performing Rakugo stories in English to audiences, with an extra show added tomorrow morning (10.30am to 11.15am) inside the Japan Pavilion. Meanwhile, the Latin American Pavilion is jointly organised by Mexico, Argentina, Peru and Colombia.
In The Writing Zone
A variety of themed zones are set up to entice book lovers of all ages and interests, from children's books to spirituality and e-books to multimedia. New to the fair this year is the Cultural Gift zone. The English Avenue zone features more than 30 exhibitors including Commercial Press, Metrobooks, Swindon and PageOne. Other zones include Chinese Mainland Publishers and Taiwan Publishing Community, while the International Cultural Village includes contributions from various foreign consulates and associations.

Admission
Open to public by ticket admission Adult Ticket: HK$25 Child Ticket: HK$10 (for children under 1.22m tall / primary school students) Morning Admission Ticket (entry before 12:00noon): HK$10 (available for sale at the fairground only each day) Children under 3 and senior citizens over 65 will be admitted free of charge
Special re-entry promotion: Visitors who purchase a regular adult ticket ($25) or child ticket ($10) dated 15 and 16 July can enjoy free admission on 17, 18 or 19 July after 7pm by presenting the whole stub attached to the admission ticket. The offer is not applicable to other admission tickets including morning admission ticket, concessionary ticket, VIP ticket and complimentary ticket.
