SINGAPORE, Oct 2, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - Dassault Systemes (DS) SolidWorks Corp. has announced the first SolidWorks Innovation Day virtual event. The event kicks off Oct 5, and offers a brand new and exciting experience for SolidWorks community and is an industry first for CAD users in the Asia-Pacific region. Through this virtual experience platform, attendees can choose over 40 different sessions from an action-packed agenda. Speakers include CAD industry veterans, DS SolidWorks key executives, and product and technical experts. Topics will range from CAD technology to product innovation trends to sustainable design for the future and how DS SolidWorks addresses the vertical industries' needs. Keynote speakers include DS SolidWorks Corp. CEO, Jeff Ray and DS SolidWorks Corp. Group Executive and Co-founder, Jon Hirschtick. Attendees of the event will also learn more about the SolidWorks(R) 2010 product line, a new set of software products for CAD, simulation, data management, documentation, and environmental impact assessment. DS SolidWorks Corp initiated the virtual event to complement the widely successful offline SolidWorks Innovation Day events and to unite its network of over 1 million users with one another and the rest of the SolidWorks community in an easy, accessible, and cost effective way.
"We always have our users' goals in mind and are continually evolving to provide the resources for them to be successful. Through this event, designers and engineers can network, learn, and find inspiration from other CAD users around the world without even leaving their desk," said Ved Narayan, Vice President, Asia-Pacific, DS SolidWorks Corp. "Innovation Day has traditionally consisted of over 150 physical events across Asia-Pacific, and yet we still have requests from our users in various locations to bring the events closer to them. Now, we have the perfect solution to extend our reach beyond geographic boundaries and help customers overcome business travel restrictions." To better address the cultural and language diversities in Asia-Pacific region, this virtual event will be available in three languages, English, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. New and exciting presentations will be added every week in the first month. Attendees will be able to connect and chat with one another real-time if they are online at the same time by leveraging on the social networking tools available on this platform. It believes by allowing users around the world to share will fuel creativity and drive the design industry forward through collaborative innovation.
"It is engineers, not doctors and lawyers, who will solve the economic, environmental, and medical problems of the world," said Jeff Ray, CEO of DS SolidWorks Corp. "The Innovation Day virtual event will help fuel these efforts and inspire innovation. The SolidWorks community consists of real users that provide real advice and participants will be able to tap into those resources."
In addition to this inaugural virtual event, DS SolidWorks has established strong online communities across Asia-Pacific in China (fans.solidworks.com.cn), India (www.designbetterproducts.in), and Korea (fans.solidworks.co.kr) with over 60,000 members, the Asia-Pacific blog (www.solidworks-apac.com), and Facebook SolidWorks Asia-Pacific community with over 3,200 members.
