SINGAPORE, Oct 5, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - Singapore presents more than 600 hours of compelling Asian stories made for the global audience at MIPCOM 2015. This includes new TV and animation programmes that will be making their debut at the Singapore Pavilion located at P-1.C28 / P-1.D27 at the Palais des Festivals.
The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) will lead a delegation of 16 Singapore media companies to MIPCOM held in Cannes, France, from 5 - 8 October 2015. The delegation comprises live action and animation producers as well as distributors like August Media, Infinite Studios, MediaCorp, One Animation, Beach House Pictures and Parade Media Group.
Trade visitors at MIPCOM will be treated to a diverse range of programmes from Singapore spanning the genres of factual, drama, infotainment, lifestyle and children's.

Singapore's state-of-the-art infrastructure and the availability of experienced media professionals have made Singapore a choice location from which to manage its business operations and strike strategic partnerships.
Victorious, a technology platform that powers interactive apps for the world's biggest creators and their super fan communities, has announced that its Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern operations will be headquartered in Singapore. Founded in late 2013, Victorious has launched the communities for some of the world's top online content creators including Ryan Higa, and will be working with some of Singapore's well-known creators and television networks Night Owl Cinematics, Tree Potatoes and FashionOne.
Singapore-based Beach House Pictures, one of Asia's largest independent production houses, will be announcing a co-production deal with Canadian production company Breakthrough Entertainment for tween TV series, "Mr Midnight", based on the popular book series of the same name. Fans of "Mr Midnight" can look forward to the programme come 2016/2017.
Hub Media Group has been appointed by FiTA Studios Malaysia as the exclusive worldwide distributor for their upcoming film "Chowrasta". "Chowrasta" is about a boy Hamid who shoulders the responsibility of caring for the family with his mother and how he overcame life's adversities, and is based on the real life story of Dato' Prof. Ir Dr. Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar, the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA. "Chowrasta" will be released in Malaysia's cinemas on 3 December. FiTA Studios Malaysia will also be co-investing in three of Hub Media's co-productions; namely "The Eco-Warriors, Project Inspire" and "Batoor: A Refugee's Journey". Hub Media is the worldwide distributor for these three titles.

Singapore brings you animation offerings that will engage young audiences with their adorable characters and educational concepts.
In the fun-filled animated series "ShutterBugs", zany main characters Flick the firefly, Horace the horsefly, and Opal the Orb-Webber Spider takes young viewers on an exploration of the world around them, developing their reasoning skills to solve problems by emphasising simple mathematical and scientific skills. "ShutterBugs" is produced by Infinite Frameworks.
Set in Singapore, "SkyShakers" by Monstrou Studios features two furry aliens on a quest to invade Earth. Hot on their trail is a trio of Inter Galactic Bounty Hunter who will stop at nothing to track and destroy the aliens and four neighbourhood friends, who find it a challenge to convince others of the aliens' existence.
Award-winning Omens Studios announced a new animation series, "Leo the Wildlife Ranger", that will be available for international sales in early 2016. Their new short film, "Gnome", is also making its debut at MIPCOM 2015.
"Leo the Wildlife Ranger" is made for 3 to 6 year-olds, teaching them fun facts about earth's unique wildlife. Kids will learn fun facts about 60 species of wildlife as they join junior Wildlife Rangers Leo and Katie, their trusted dog Hero and the affable Ranger Rocky on exciting adventures from the Borneo rainforests to the Pacific Ocean to help animals in distress.
"Gnome" is the latest original animated short film by Omens Studios, following Oasis (2013) and Cap'n Shmelly (2014), and is directed by Sacha Goedegebure. Sacha Goedegebure directed Big Buck Bunny, which is one of the world's first open-sourced animated film. Gnome is a dark comedy that features a little forest gnome and his everyday life in the beautiful fairy tale-like woods somewhere in Western Europe. The little gnome helps a hungry caterpillar he found outside his treehouse, to unexpected consequences. Plans are in the pipeline to develop Gnome into a series, followed by video games, toys and other merchandise.

The new seasons of these programmes attest to the popularity of these programmes with their international fans.
"Dinosaur Train" is an animated series co-produced by Singapore's Sparky Animation and The Jim Henson Company. It features a curious young Tyrannosaurus Rex named Buddy, who takes the Dinosaur Train with this family to go on an adventure. The series has aired in over 175 countries via partnerships with international broadcasters like PBS (USA), Disney Channel (Germany) and EBS (South Korea). Slated to be completed in 2016, Season 4 of "Dinosaur Train" will see Buddy exploring the Mesozoic Era and its diverse ecosystem.
"Undercover Asia", a series on stories of crime, violence and injustice throughout Asia, returns with "Undercover Asia 2". The new season promises more gripping tales that expose Asia's secret underbelly. "Undercover Asia 2" is produced by Threesixzero Productions and is distributed by Singapore's national broadcaster, MediaCorp.
"The Food Detectives" returns for a third season with its light-hearted and informative take on the food we eat. Produced by activeTV and distributed by UK factual outfit TVF, the series has proven popular not only in Singapore but also on channels such as Nat Geo People. Production for Season 3 is expected to wrap up in the first quarter of 2016.
"Counting with Paula" by Omens Studios is an animated series for 3 to 6 year-olds that injects fun into learning about numbers, counting and shapes. The show features Paula and her friends, Tim, Billy, Chalkie, Calc and the Numbers as they go on exciting adventures in colourful and exotic places. The show has been sold to various countries around the world, including USA, Russia and Canada. While the English international version will be available by end 2015, a new season is in the pipeline for 2016!

Singapore offers innovative ideas to broadcasters looking for fresh Asian stories.
Dishing up an insightful discovery of an Asian staple, "Instant Noodles Diary" by Very.Sg takes viewers on a culinary road trip across eight Asian countries and their diverse instant noodles foodscape. It explores how a single food product introduced half a century ago grew into a multi-billion-dollar industry. "Instant Noodles Diary" is distributed by Parade Media Group outside of Asia.
Also promising to whet viewers' appetite is "Master Chefs" by Dragonslayer Asia and Sunrise Entertainment. Making its debut at MIPCOM, "Master Chefs" features a series of master classes by internationally renowned chefs who congregate at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands for the annual gourmet food fair, Epicurean Market. The impressive list of guest chefs includes Tetsuya Wakuda, Nancy Silverton and Wolfgang Puck. "Master Chefs" will be available for worldwide sales in November 2015.
On "Cash Cab Asia", unsuspecting passengers enter the 'Cash Cab' in Singapore to take a regular taxi ride, only to find out that they are contestants on a game show. Passengers are asked general knowledge questions along the way to their destination. "Cash Cab Asia" is produced by activeTV and is exclusively distributed by All3Media.

Even as we approach the last quarter of 2015, Singapore companies are gearing up to present more exciting content for young viewers in 2016.
"Teddies" and "Cheezles" are two of Beach House Pictures' upcoming pre-school series. "Teddies" stars a trio of puppet teddy bears. The programme will assist in the development of emotional and social skills in children. "Cheezles" is about its namesake character Cheezles, an adorable cat who thinks of himself as a human, just like his owners. Both titles are in the development stages, and are expected to be completed in 2016/2017.
"Nightbreeds" by Monstrou Studios, Sweatbox S.L and TV3 - Televisio de Catalunya, is a children's animation like no other. A 3D-animated adventure, "Nightbreeds" is about an unlikely coalition between humans and vampires on a quest to save both their kinds from destruction, and is expected to be completed in 2016.
"My Faith" and "Garden Gang" by M'GO Films - In "My Faith", a documentary, explore the world of religions and beliefs around the world through the eyes of children, where a camera will follow one child around in each episode and observe their interactions with loved ones. "Garden Gang" is a TV drama centred on a group of outcast kids and their unlikely bond with their elderly neighbours. "My Faith" and "Garden Gang" are slated for completion in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
