| To Jointly Develop Innovation Base for Big Data Industry |
HONG KONG, Jan 14, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - Neo Telemedia Limited ("Neo Telemedia" or the "Group"; stock code: 8167), with Internet and big data as its core businesses, revealed that its subsidiary, Guangdong Bluesea Mobile Development Co., Ltd. ("Guangdong Bluesea"), entered into a strategic cooperative framework agreement with Jiangmen Municipal Government; Guangdong Branch of China Telecom Corporation Limited ("China Telecom"); and Guangdong Branch of China Construction Bank Corporation ("CCB") regarding the joint development of the Zhuxishugu Project (Cloud Computing Center) on 12 January 2016. The objective is to develop Jiangmen into a national innovation base for the big data industry.
Pursuant to the agreement, Guangdong Bluesea will be responsible for the overall investment, construction, planning and coordination of the Zhuxishugu Project (Cloud Computing Center). With the support of the Jiangmen Municipal Government, it will collaborate with China Telecom's Guangdong Branch to jointly construct the main facility of a big data industrial base in Binjiang New Area, Jiangmen, and a big data industrial base resource center (cloud computing center) in Taishan. Guangdong Bluesea will also introduce renowned corporations and expedite the development of cloud services and applications in Jiangmen. The Group believes that the signing of the agreement will help with the launch of its big data business in Jiangmen and generate long-term revenue.
In addition, Guangdong Bluesea and China Construction Bank Corporation, Jiangmen Branch also entered into an integrated financial cooperation agreement for the Zhuxishugu Project (Cloud Computing Center). The Jiangmen Branch of CCB will provide a collection of comprehensive financial services and a comprehensive RMB5 billion credit line to Guangdong Bluesea. This will benefit the construction and development of the Zhuxishugu Project and forge solid long-term ties between the two parties.
The Zhuxishugu Project is located in Binjiang New Area's Initiation Zone and Taishan Guanghai Bay Industrial Park. Phase one of the Binjiang site covers a planned area of approximately 130 acres, while phase one of the Taishan site occupies a planned area of approximately 300 acres. They will be developed into large-scale industrial facilities mainly providing big data, cloud resources and cloud computing services.
At the end of 2015, Neo Telemedia completed a public offer for approximately 3,180,000,000 new shares, raising approximately HK$1.1 billion, which will be allocated to Guangdong Bluesea's data center project. Bees Financial, a subsidiary of the Group, signed an agreement with Taiping Insurance to develop the internet consumer finance business. Meanwhile, Guangdong Bluesea Union Post Co., Ltd will develop the cross-border e-commerce business with China Postal Express & Logistics. The resources of the data center in Guangdong Bluesea will also be used to develop the cloud computing business chain.
In recent years, the Jiangmen Municipal Government has strived to promote informatization; in particular, big data, through the promulgation of the General Plan for Construction of Information Infrastructure in Jiangmen (2015-2017) and Jiangmen Internet + Action Plan (2015-2020). Under such favorable conditions, the Zhuxishugu Project (Cloud Computing Center) can develop rapidly, thereby creating a crucial driver for informatization in Jiangmen.
