TOKYO, Mar 31, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - Showa Denko K.K. ("SDK"; TSE:4004) today received a loan from Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) under the scheme of DBJ Environmentally Rated Loan Program, after acquiring the highest-level rating from DBJ for its environmental management. DBJ Environmentally Rated Loan Program is a loan program utilizing a rating system developed by DBJ that evaluates enterprises on the level of their environmental management and then sets preferential loan conditions when an enterprise is rated high.

2. SDK has been conducting activities to improve its CSR-conscious procurement since 2008. Simultaneously, SDK has been making effort to improve environment- consciousness of its supply chain by introducing various measures including introduction of a comprehensive chemicals management system that integrates information management for all chemicals the Group handles.
3. SDK has been promoting "Diversity Management," a management policy to enhance diversity of its employees aiming to give women, old persons, and handicapped persons more opportunities to work energetically, through various programs including establishment of an organization to promote diversity, and creation of Diversity CEO Awards to commend persons or organizations that contributed to promotion of Diversity Management.
