Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity 2016 Award Winners Announced

SINGAPORE, Sept 24, 2016 - (ACN Newswire) - The final day of Spikes Asia culminated in a ceremony to celebrate the winners of the annual Spikes Asia Awards. The industry gathered to honour the best regional work.

This year, a record-breaking 5,132 entries were received across 20 awards and two new Spikes - Music and Digital Craft - were honoured.

Terry Savage, Chairman of Spikes Asia, said that this year's award-winning work had set the benchmark of excellence across the region. "It's inspiring to observe the year-on-year growth of the Festival, where we can award work that has a distinctly regional identity, while also being truly world-class. Spikes Asia is setting the bar of excellence for the industry," commented Savage.

Creative Effectiveness
- 3 Spikes from 25 entries were awarded
The Grand Prix went to the Share the Load campaign for Ariel Matic by BBDO India, Mumbai

Design
- 38 Spikes from 375 entries were awarded - 4 Gold, 10 Silver, 23 Bronze
The Grand Prix went to Touchable Ink for Thai Samsung Electronics and Thai Association of the Blind by J. Walter Thompson Bangkok, Thailand

Digital Craft
- 15 Spikes from 140 entries were awarded - 2 Gold, 3 Silver, 9 Bronze
The Grand Prix went to Museum in The Cloud for All Nippon Airways by Enjin, Tokyo, Japan

- 49 Spikes from 488 entries were awarded - 7 Gold, 12 Silver, 29 Bronze

The Grand Prix for Good went to Leo Burnett Melbourne, Australia for the Rewordcampaign for Headspace.

Nicole McMillan, Vice-President of Marketing for the Asia-Pacific region within the Wrigley Company, a subsidiary of Mars, Incorporated, accepted the Advertiser of the Year Award on behalf of Mars, Incorporated.

Network of the Year was presented to BBDO with Y&R coming second and Leo Burnett in third place.

Colenso BBDO, Auckland recieved the Agency of the Year award. Second was Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and third went to Dentsu Inc., Tokyo.

The Independent Agency of the Year was awarded to Party, Tokyo. Second place to Fred & Farid Shanghai and third to Enjin, Tokyo.

Starcom, Melbourne was awarded Media Agency of the Year. Mediacom New Zealand, Auckland received second place and third went to PHD, Auckland.

Finch, Australia received the Spikes Palm Award, honouring the most awarded production company in the eligible sections. Second came Guilty Content, Australia and third, Revolver/Will O'Rourke, Australia.

Spikes Asia was the final winner of the day, securing a successful Guinness World Records attempt, with 396 contributions to a colour by numbers. Further information on the winners can be found online at www.spikes.asia.
