TOKYO, Oct 27, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - Mazda Motor Corporation's production and sales results for September 2016 and for April through September 2016 are summarized below.
1. Domestic Production

(1) September 2016

Mazda's domestic production volume in September 2016 increased 2.0% year on year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

CX-5: 29,707 units (up 5.9% year-on-year)
Mazda3 (Axela): 23,013 units (up 23.2% year-on-year)
Mazda6 (Atenza): 12,060 units (down 9.6% year-on-year)

(2) April through September 2016

Mazda's domestic production volume in the period April through September 2016 decreased 1.8% year on year due to decreased production of passenger and commercial vehicles.

CX-5:162,029 units (up 6.1% year-on-year)
Mazda3 (Axela): 99,404 units (up 7.6% year-on-year)
Mazda6 (Atenza): 58,904 units (down 16.8% year-on-year)

2. Overseas Production

(1) September 2016

Mazda's overseas production volume in September 2016 increased 1.7% year on year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

Mazda2: 8,487 units (up 0.7% year on year)

Mazda's export volume in the period April through September 2016 increased 5.4% year on year due to increased shipments to North America, Europe and other regions.
