Bakery&Pastry2010 Brings Latest Global Offerings To Asia

SINGAPORE, Mar 26, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Consumers in the most rapidly developing cities in Asia, with their increasing disposable incomes and growing appetite for finer foods, have been fueling the continent's rising demand for bakery and pastry products in recent years. The retail value of bakery products in Asia Pacific markets are forecasted to grow 21 per cent, outpacing worldwide growth by three times .

Bakery&Pastry2010 returns from 20 - 23 April 2010 and will introduce the latest equipment and ingredients from across the world to industry buyers in Asia. This trade exhibition plays a key role as the business networking and knowledge exchange platform for trade professionals in the region, contributing to the injection of innovation and creativity that determines success in this competitive environment.

Exhibitors will showcase essentials including belts and conveyors, bakery preparation and processing equipment and accessories, ice-cream machines, ingredients, kitchen fittings and appliances, packaging, refrigeration, racks and storage, trays, pans and containers. Apart from showing off their solutions that will improve productivity, they will also focus on catering to the changing demands of consumers. Discerning consumers' increasing preference for healthier products as well as the greater emphasis placed on presentation makes healthy ingredients and creative packaging solutions just some of the more sought after showcases at Bakery&Pastry2010.

One of the many international companies at the event is yeast manufacturer Algist Bruggeman from Belgium. "We have been participating in Bakery&Pastry2010 for more than 10 years because it is a good platform to strengthen our excellent reputation in the Asian market," said Andre Vanmiddelem, the company's Export Director. Algist Bruggeman is at the event to extend its product offerings to more markets, particularly its dry Bruggemann Instant Yeast, which has been popular in Asia.

The Asian Pastry Cup 2010 will return for its third showing at Bakery&Pastry2010 to bring excitement and intensity to the event. This competition brings together talented pastry chefs from 11 countries to compete in front of a 'live' audience and is the official platform to pre-select teams from three Asian countries to participate in the World Pastry Cup in Lyon, France.

Bakery&Pastry2010 is a specialised event of FHA2010 (Food&HotelAsia2010), Asia's largest international food and hospitality trade event. FHA2010 features an impressive 2,800 exhibitors from 70 countries and encompasses other specialised events such as FoodAsia2010, HotelAsia2010, HospitalityStyleAsia2010, HospitalityTechnology2010 and is co-located with Wines&SpiritsAsia2010.
