Hong Kong Gold & Silver Ornament Workers and Merchants General Union was established in 1948. It cultivates the enthusiasm of the younger generation towards the jewelry industry, and encourages them to contribute to the Union, the industry and the society through engaging them in the daily operations of the Union. As the jewelry industry is booming in recent years, in order to strengthen the competitiveness and enhance the productivity of the members, the Union has been actively working with other associations to provide a diversified platform, holding industry-related activities and courses, including Gem & Jewelry Festival and hand-painted jewelry design courses, for the industry and members to explore more opportunities for maintaining the advantages in design, craftsmanship, quality and services of Hong Kong jewelry industry. With the trust, support and encouragement of the Directors, the Executive Committee and follow members, Mr. Kan was elected as the new President of the Union.
Mr. Kan has been playing a leading role in promoting the development of the jewelry industry, and is the core member of numerous local Jewelry Association, including Honorary President of the Hong Kong Jade Association, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Pearl Association, First Honorary President of the Hong Kong Gemstone Manufacturers' Association Ltd, etc,. With over 30 years of experience in jewelry manufacturing, Mr. Kan is dedicated in promoting the development of the jewelry through his forward thinking insights.
